Common Questions

Does HoursServed replace Lion Portal?

No — and it's not designed to. Lion Portal is the official system of record for Lions Clubs International. HoursServed handles the pre-submission workflow: collecting attendance, logging service hours, generating reports, and routing approvals. Think of it as the preparation layer before data enters Lion Portal.

Why use HoursServed if we already have Lion Portal?

Lion Portal manages permissions, official records, and submissions. It doesn't automate meeting RSVPs, freeze service hours at event creation, generate approval-ready monthly reports, or track dues. HoursServed fills that operational gap for club secretaries and officers.

Can data from HoursServed be submitted to Lion Portal?

Yes. HoursServed exports CSV and PDF summaries formatted for officer review. A direct Lion Portal upload interface is currently in development to make submission even faster.

Do members need to use both systems?

No. Regular members only interact with HoursServed via email links — no login, no app. Officers use HoursServed for day-to-day admin and Lion Portal for official submissions and permissions.
